Weekend at The Sheraton Mirage - Belinda

Sheraton Mirage was by far one of the best hotels in the Gold Coast area I have been to in a while. It is an absolute beachfront property. With the choice of a luxury lagoon pool which boasts a swim up bar and the pristine waters of main Beach, Sheraton Mirage offers you the best of both worlds.

Even so the hotel is not a brand new property; they have maintained their décor and furnishing.

I had the opportunity experiencing a lagoon view room, which is situated on the ground level. It walks straight out into the lagoon, where you can just relax away from the main pool.

The bathroom has an oversize bathtub, which would fit about 4 people, it was a larger than average bathroom in all.

The buffet breakfast was fantastic, I really didn’t know where to start, there was so much variety, that unfortunately by the time I finished my eggs benedict and waffles, I only had some room for some fresh fruit. I couldn’t make it to the hash browns, cheese platter and the cereals. And the list goes on. The breakfast was little expensive, but it sure could have taken you all the way through to dinner, if you ate well.

I walked across the road to the Marina and enjoyed a beautiful seafood lunch where they had oysters for $12 a dozen, so we ordered a few. The wine selections were too many to choose from, but definitely enjoyed the view of the boats parked at the Marina. Soon after lunch, I couldn’t wait to get back to the Sheraton to find my spot back at the lagoon pool.

Sat on the beach and I could see from afar the busy beaches down in the heart of Surfers. Even though we were on the same beach, just that 5 minutes drive away mad me feel like I was a world away. I sat and watched the sun go down.

The service for fantastic, nothing was a problem. Accommodation is not cheap, however when I arrived at 9:00am the room was available and when I asked for a late check out, they happily extended till 1pm.

The stay was a great one and I thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend for couples and families as they cater for both, but no sign of teenagers or schoolies, which is what we were looking for. I will be going back.

Even so the room rate was expensive; their cocktails by the pool, soon seemed to be more than the room rate. Either we were very thirsty or their prices are sightly higher than the average.

I enjoyed lunch once more across the road at Palazzo Versace, before making my way back to the airport.
